Bruising:

A bruise occurs when the tissues underlying the skin become injured. The skin is not broken, but the delicate capillaries below the skin surface rupture and blood drains out into the surrounding area. This seeping blood results in pain, swelling and black and blue marks. People who do not eat enough fresh, uncooked fruit and vegetables are prone to easy bruising. Eat lots of dark leafy vegetables like broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale, spinach and buckwheat are amongst good. People who sail  a lot on yachts are candidates for a lot of bruising because they get banged about at times.
