When someone asks, “How are you?” the truth may be: “Not so good” or “I’m feeling a little scared about where the economy is going” or “I’m really worried about my kids” or “I’m quite frustrated with my boss.” But there are always other “truths” as well…and you can choose which ones to say out loud.
The next time a friend or colleague asks you “How are you?” try to choose a new answer that is both positive and real. Fill in the blanks to these phrases below to get your focus on the positive feelings you do have, even though you are also aware of your fears:

(2) I feel optimistic about _______________
(3) What made me happy this week was _______________
(4) What gave me such relief today was _______________
(5) I’m looking forward to _______________
You would certainly STILL be telling the truth, but you would have done something constructive to raise your vibration by choosing a new answer — one that is still true but very positive.
How are you? Great, I feel really hopeful about my decision to be my own boss.
How are you? Better, thanks. I feel optimistic about my investment in my home.
How are you? Relieved, thanks for asking. My kids got good report cards which made me happy this week.
How are you? I’m really looking forward to a gathering with my friends next week.
The point is about making a choice…it’s yours. Yes, you may have fears, angers, worries etc, but you always have the other feelings as well, they just may be harder to find.
Yes, the economy is being trashed every day, problems with unemployment and the credit crunch are being discussed on every news show, and family members continue to act in ways we find hurtful or selfish…are you going to join that energy or choose a new direction? I highly recommend that you try to steer your vibration in a new direction by choosing a new answer.

While tapping the karate chop spot on either hand, repeat these phrases out loud, (or change the words to fit your exact situation).
“Even though business is down right now, I choose to focus on what’s going well with my customers.”
“Even though I feel worried about my finances right now, I choose to remember that I am financially safe anyway. “
“Even though I’m worried about so many things, I choose to focus on positive events and feelings in my life.”

Eyebrow: “I’m worried about so many things.”
Side of Eye: “I feel concerned about the future of my business.”
Under Eye: “I feel anxious about my family.”
Nose: “What if my life doesn’t get better?”
Chin: “I have so much to worry about.”
Collarbone: “Maybe I could choose another focus.”
Under Arm: “But there really is so much to worry about.”
Head: “I’m not sure how I’m going to change my focus.”
***Now for the positive focus on the solution***
Eyebrow: “I can think of several people that make me happy.”
Side of Eye: “My gratitude list could be really really long…”
Under Eye: “I have so much to appreciate in my life.”
Nose: “I know it’s up to me, but my worries don’t go away.”
Chin: “I choose to focus on what I appreciate.”
Collarbone: “I know what to think about in order to feel better now!”
Under Arm: “I am focusing on what I appreciate about my family.”
Head: “I choose to think of all the answers that could make me happy now.”
Keep tapping to relieve the habit of focusing on negativity and start practicing looking for the “new” answer that feels more positive.
